About Me

When Italy lifted the FIFA World Cup trophy in 2006, a burning passion for Football was born. Nine years old at the time, I was playing soccer both on the PS2 console in our backyard and in the nearby recreation league. I had my Juventus Trezeguet jersey gifted from my Uncle and a Del Piero Italy jersey from 2002, but that was it. I kicked the ball but didn't watch the ball. Since then, I was up in the mornings of my house located convenientely in surbaban New York watching any game I could find on television and obsessively following the black and white Juventus. More so, it sparked a motivation to play more and more. I started travel soccer, which paved the way for a successful career in high school when I was recruited to play soccer at Division 3 collegiate level, representing upstate NY and central Jersey. While studying communications, I had some fun working part-time as a Sports Information Assistant, publicly announcing sports contests for the women's softball and men's baseball teams. I worked at the college radio station and was featured as a panelist talking about soccer at the college TV station, and I enjoyed this passion. Upon graduating, I decided to go more practical rather than the broadcasting route and did corporate communications overseas in Europe. The rest, as they say, is history; I now am working full-time in Europe for the better half of a decade. But I still had some leftover passion from covering sports - hence, an idea was born. A podcast on the great sport of Football tied to my roots as an American. A great place to start...the USL Championship. TalkUSL was born, and now I get to spend my free time creating something for USL fans to enjoy weekly—the perfect companion to help with the waiting between games. So follow me as we go on this journey together, covering and talking about all things USL as this league continues to expand and make waves across the nation and on the podcasting platforms. - Vince Galvano
